Frequently Asked Questions
How do I book a session with you?Booking starts with a quick inquiry through my contact page. Tell me little about what you're looking for — the type of session, roughly when, and how many people. From there I'll walk you through availability, pricing, and the details, and a signed agreement plus a retainer holds your date. I keep the whole process warm and low-pressure.
How far in advance should I book? For family and portrait sessions, two to four weeks is usually comfortable, though popular times fill faster. Fall is my busiest season by far — if you want golden-hour family portraits in October or November, reach out in late summer. For elopements, intimate weddings, and larger milestone celebrations, the earlier the better. Always reach out and ask. If I can make it work, I will.
Do you require a retainer or deposit?
Yes. A signed session agreement and a retainer reserve your date on my calendar. The retainer applies toward your session total, with the balance due before or on the day of your session. I'll spell out the exact amounts and timing when we talk, so there are no surprises.
What happens if it rains or I need to reschedule?Because I shoot in natural light and almost always outdoors, weather is something I watch closely. If the forecast won't cooperate, we'll simply move your session to another day at no penalty — a rained-out golden hour is nobody's fault. If life comes up and you need to reschedule, just give me as much notice as you can and we'll find a new date.
How much does a photography session cost?Session pricing depends on the type of session, its length, and how many people. Family and portrait sessions start at one rate, while elopements, intimate weddings, and larger milestone celebrations are priced individually because they vary. The best way to get an exact figure is to send me a quick inquiry with what you have in mind, and I'll send tailored pricing.
What's included in a session?Every session includes the time we spend together on location, professional editing of your final images, and a beautifully curated online gallery you can download and share. I focus on delivering images you'll actually print and display — not just files that sit on a hard drive.
What areas do you serve?I'm based in the Clemson area and photograph throughout Upstate South Carolina — Clemson, Central, Liberty, Pendleton, Anderson, Seneca, Walhalla, Easley, Pickens, Greenville, Travelers Rest, and the lake communities around Lake Keowee and Lake Hartwell. If you're a little outside that radius, just ask.
Where do you recommend for outdoor sessions?
It depends on the feel you're after — open golden fields, wooded paths, lakeshores, or the Clemson University campus all offer something different. I know locations across the Upstate that photograph beautifully at different times of year, and I'll recommend the right one based on your session type, group size, and the light. You're welcome to suggest a spot that's meaningful to you, too.
Can we do the session at our home or a location that's special to us?Yes, and I love when clients do. In-home lifestyle sessions and sessions at a meaningful location — the family land, a grandparent's porch, the spot where you got engaged — often produce the most personal images. Tell me what the place means to you and we'll build the session around it.
