A Golden Hour Maternity Session in Central, SC | Jessica & Seth

There's a particular kind of light that shows up in an open field just before the sun dips below the tree line, soft and gold, and Jessica and Seth's maternity session was full of it.

We met in a wide-open field just a few minutes from Clemson. I'll be honest with you: it was hot. This is Upstate SC in the middle of summer, after all. But here's the thing about golden hour, it rewards patience. As the sun softened and dropped lower, we found these gorgeous shady pockets along the edge of the field where the light filtered through in the most beautiful way. Between the shade and that late-day breeze, the heat melted into the background, and what was left was pure, easy connection.

And Jessica and Seth made my job simple. Their baby is due in September, and you could feel the anticipation in every frame, that sweet, tender excitement of a season about to change everything.

Maternity Sessions On Location in Upstate SC

If you're expecting and dreaming of natural-light maternity photos somewhere beautiful and close to home, this is exactly the kind of session I love to create. As a maternity photographer serving Clemson and the greater Upstate South Carolina area, I photograph on location—in open fields, along the lakes, wherever the light and the setting feel right for your family. Central, Pendleton, Anderson, Seneca, Lake Keowee, Lake Hartwell, Greenville—if it's in the Upstate, I'm happy to meet you there.

I always recommend golden hour for maternity photography in South Carolina, especially in the warmer months. Yes, our summers are warm, but with the right timing and a little shade, a July evening session can be soft, comfortable, and absolutely worth it. The light is unmatched, and the results are timeless.

Your pregnancy is such a fleeting, beautiful season—here and then gently gone. I'd love to help you hold onto it while it's happening. If you're looking for a Clemson, SC maternity photographer for natural-light, on-location portraits that feel warm and real, I'd love to hear from you.

Congratulations, Jessica and Seth.
